You deleted the message halfway through typing it. The one where you tried to explain to a friend why you couldn't meet up this weekend. Too tired didn't sound like enough of a reason, so you wrote something else instead.
Then you opened the delivery app.
Not because you were particularly hungry. Because somewhere between closing the text thread and staring at menu options, your hand was already reaching for the saltiest thing available. Fries. Ramen. Something with enough sodium to taste like relief before you even took a bite.
Maybe you told yourself you deserved it after the week you'd had. Maybe you didn't think about it at all. You just ordered, ate, and felt momentarily better in a way you couldn't quite name.
