You close the app without ordering. Open it again. Close it. The third time you scroll past everything healthy and add what you actually wanted in the first place.

The Space Between Feeling and Knowing

There's a moment that happens before you eat when you're not actually hungry. It's brief. Uncomfortable. A sensation that doesn't have a name yet.

For some people, that moment gets a label: I'm anxious. I'm lonely. I'm angry about what she said. But for many of us, that moment just... arrives. A tightness. A heaviness. A vague wrongness that needs fixing immediately.

And food fixes it. Temporarily.
